In this chapter, we see downfall after downfall from the kings of northern Israel. Each king was worse than the next. Even so, the Lord sent warnings through the prophets but to no avail. Judgment was cast, prophecies fulfilled of the tearing down of households, and still, they had no heart of repentance. May we learn from the scriptures, and always go back to the center with God.

Pastor Rod shares a few verses with us beginning in John 3:12 to encourage us to come before Christ, the one and only begotten son, sacrificed for our sins. Heaven may require a 4.0 GPA, and while none of us have a passing grade, Jesus has pinned our failures and shortcomings on him when he went to the cross, allowing his believers to be saved and have a perfect gift in heaven. Will you believe without seeing? Will you accept Him?

On this Palm Sunday, Pastor Rod explains the details of Paul's 3rd missionary journey. Paul reasoned with others, from the scriptures, about salvation and the things concerning Jesus. For us today, be encouraged in sharing the Gospel. Live up to the Lord's expectations for you (not His expectations for others); run the race that God has laid out, for you.

Pastor Rod teaches about the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Acts 19:4, Paul said, "John's baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus." Remember God is our Father, we are His children. His Holy Spirit draws us to Jesus, His Spirit seals us in Him, His Spirit fills us when we are surrendered. Our Father God wants to have a relationship with us. Surrender and stop holding back, be willing to let the Holy Spirit show up in your life and work through your life.

Pastor Rod teaches about Paul being a humble and willing servant for God. Paul was a missionary in Corinth, Acts 18:11 "so Paul stayed for a year and a half, teaching them the word of God."The Lord never gives up on us, He is always there, He cares about us and leads us to minister to people. Paul was committed to God, no matter how hard it was, Paul listened to the Spirit of God. Acts 18:21 "I will come back if it is God's will." When we serve, we first seek God Alone. We fast to be closer to Him. We love because He loved us first. He leads and guides. Pray for what God has called us to do. Pray for knowledge and also Grace, that we will teach others God's Word accurately. Praise God, our Holy and Loving Father.

Pastor Rod teaches in 1 Kings 14, where we see God's judgement come upon Jeroboam, king of Israel, and Rehoboam king of Judah. In this we see that when a nation leaves God's ways, it only brings deterioration, wickedness, and judgement.

Pastor Rod teaches in Acts 17 about the people in Athens, the city was completely given over to false gods. Acts 17:16b, "Paul was greatly distressed to see that the city was full of idols." And pastor Rod encourages us to break for people like Paul did, do not hate people. Paul was looking for opportunity and could not let any pass by. And when we see people, let us always remember, Jesus already paid for their sins, they just have to accept it. Acts 17:19b-20, "they said to him, 'May we know what this new teaching is that you are presenting? You are bringing some strange ideas to our ears, and we want to know what they mean." If someone is truly seeking knowledge and information about your views, give them Jesus.
