All about Jesus

Koinonia meetings currently meet every other Friday, Saturday, or Sunday depending on the group schedule.  We are studying the curriculum from the book of James. To join a Koinonia group, Click Here (or at the bottom of the page), or stop by the Info Booth in the sancutary.

Key Verses (NIV)

James 1:22, "Do not mereley listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says."

James 2:26, "As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead."

James 4:7-8, "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you."

James 5:19, "My brothers, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back, remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins."

Koinonia is a Greek word that occurs 20 times in the Bible. Koinonia’s primary meaning is “fellowship, sharing in common, communion.” The first occurrence of konionia is Acts 2:42, “They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” We believe that Christian fellowship is a key aspect of the Christian life. Believers in Christ are to come together in love, faith, and encouragement. That is the essence of koinonia.

The Koinonia Small Groups Ministry here at Calvary Chapel of the Coastlands is designed to provide an environment for fellowship, discipleship, prayer, and Bible study. Koinonia Gatherings are small groups that meet every other weekend in homes with worship, fellowship, and guided discussion. All are welcome to sign up and attend.

Many of our Koinonia Groups are family gatherings with children sharing in the fellowship with other children within the group. Just let us know that you have childcare needs and we will place your family in an appropriate group.
