In this message from Genesis 35, Pastor Rod Carver asks, "How long does it take to grow up?". We learn that Jacob (Israel) still had not gone to the land that God told Israel many years ago, to go to. He was not being obedient and it showed throughout his entire family. He had not been a good leader before this point in Genesis and was in what is known as a "Self-caused trial".
Sometimes you put yourself in a trial and sometimes God brings the trial, but you can learn from both situations. Examine your life and eliminate the things that are ungodly because excellence is often limited by a lack of self-control. Grow in your walk as a Christian and God will bless your faithfulness to Him!
