In this message from Matthew 26:68-75, Pastor Rod Carver discusses what took place the last night before Jesus' death on the cross, specifically, Peter's denial of knowing Jesus.
In these verses, Peter gives us an example of how to fail. His failure was caused by 4 things:
• Overconfidense (pride).
• A lack of prayer (laxness).
• Followed Jesus at a distance (fear and shame).
• Warmed himself by the enemy's fire (compromise).
In application, we learn that we cannot be saved without God's version of humility. It really is the key to spiritual power and being used by God in incredible ways! There is true strength in being in His Word!
