In this message, Pastor Rod teaches that this scene in Babylon takes place about 15 years into Babylon's rule over Israel. The statue King Nebuchadnezzar built of himself was approximately 90 feet high and the king forced others to love, respect and worship it out of his incredible insecurity. Unlike the king or anyone else, God never forces us to love, respect or worship Him. He chose to love us and has chosen to keep on loving us; He asks us.
The 3 young men who were thrown into the fire for not worshipping the king's statue stood their ground and kept their integrity with God. And, like these 3, we can remember in an insane world that 1. God is able; 2. God loves you; and 3. God is faithful. As a believer in Jesus, you are not alone in the fire. God is always with you!
