In this message form Matthew 5:13-16, Pastor Rod explains that Jesus did not say you WILL BE salt and light, He said YOU ARE the salt and light of the earth. The degree to which we as Christians are going to be effective as witnesses in this world is the degree to which we are allow ourselves to be Christ-like. Being a light to this world involves letting your 'good works' shine as brightly as possible. People will give glory to God for the light that is shining within you.
